Crotchet and Car Rides // 21/12/11

| t-shirt, leather jeans: oasis |

Some more of my fabulous uniform! Been working pretty much every day this week, so it was bound to come up eventually! These skinnies are so comfortable, stretchy and easy to move in, so lovely for work, and with heels it'll be equally gorg on a night out. And this top is so cute, I feel very 'pretty' when I'm wearing it, and I always get compliments from customers, and a few have even gone and bought one for themselves, which is a nice feeling!
On the Christmas front, I'm done with my shopping! And I'm actually pretty chuffed at my presents, I usually am abysmal at choosing presents for people.. I'll get them a teddy or something.. But I've got all my loved ones things they were after, result!

Lace and a Pretty Face // 19/12/11

 | blouse: zara | high-waisted skinny jeans: topshop |

Awh, I love this little blouse. I bought it a while back and wore it constantly, and I've just rekindled my love for it! So cute and vintage-esque, easy to wear and comfy and cute!
I don't know if there's much to tell you on the personal life front! I've taken up running, which feels good and gives off the impression that I'm a health freak, when in reality I eat like a poverty-stricken hippo.. Yeah, that's my analogy and I'm sticking to it.

Wreaths and Mispronunciation // 16/12/11

| playsuit: oasis |

Ahhh, I love my uniform! Yes, this is my work uniform. £50 retail price, but I bagged this baby for £12.50! BOOM! It's so comfortable, not too tight, not too short. Which makes it practical for daytime and work, but fabulously chic with heels and a blazer for a night out!
I've finally broken up from college today! And works going great, getting lots of hours and making lots of dosh. And my best friend came home from university today! I'VE MISSED HER SO! And life's going pretty well at the moment generally, Christmas is coming up and I think for the first year, I've actually bought everyone decent presents. I'm usually despicable because I've had sufficient funds..
And Christmas is the best time of year, makes everything sweeter.

Intrepid Sequins // 4/12/11

  • blazer and skirt - H&M
  • body - Jane Norman
Oh hello there beauties! Such a manic few weeks, I'm working at least 25 hours each week, paired with 2 upcoming shows and college assignments, I haven't even had time to do any outfit posts! Despicable!
Anyway, I bought the skirt and blazer in London, I'd been after a proper blazer for a while, I have a cropped one, but alas I have grown tired of it! But this one is beautiful! I literally wear it with everything.
And the skirt is so sweet, naww, I love sequin skirts, and sequins in general..
I've been Xmas shopping as well, I have no inspiration, I literally have no idea what to get anyone.. It's the same story with me, every single year!

Made in Fields // 25/11/11

Long time no blog! I'm terribly sorry, London happened, then I got quite ill, and then I had a bit of a bad time personally. But ALL is well now, and I'm doing good.
London was UH-MAZING! I loved it so much, I can't even explain. I went up with my parents to watch Wicked and The Jersey Boys, they were both incredible! I am making it my main goal to get in to West London University now, my UCAS had some problems with student support and all that malarky, so I've amended it and it's been re-submitted, hopefully all goes well! But UWL is so my first choice!
I'd like to share with you all, my most treasured purchase!

My lovely Chelsea boots from le Topshop! £56 even with student discount, but they were just so perfect. I've been wanting them for SO long, payday just hasn't come quick enough!
Speaking of being paid, I am absolutely loving working for Oasis, everyone is so lovely and I'm really doing well. Getting lots of accounts and doing really well with sorting deliveries and helping customers, and my paycheck was to the tune of £456, not complaining one bit!

So, WHO IS LOOKING FORWARD TO CHRISTMAS?! 25th today, the countdown is officially beginning!

French Leopard Sweep // 13/11/11

So I've just spent about 40 minutes on these nails, lovely as they are! They are honestly so simple to do. No need to manicure your nails before hand or have acrylics or anything. I picked up a french nail press-on set from.. wait for it.. PRIMARK. Yes, primarni itself. £1, 24 pre-filed nails including glue. They fit my nails perfectly and are a good length, the glue's a bit crappy but hey ho.
So I popped a bit of base coat on top, then i plopped little dots of Topshop Heart of Gold varnish across one half of the nail. Then  you add the leopard detail with Wah Nail Art Pen in black, you can use liquid eyeliner as long as you add a top coat, and even out the sweep with some large and small dots with the pen.
And here's the finished result!

Very proud of this! And here's a crappy close-up

So there we go! I did it in one go aswell, no mess and no fuss! If any of you lovelies have any nail art you're particularly proud of, send me a picture! I'd love to give it a try :-)

Glam Inside.

I'm still feeling mongish, so I'm going to do a Glam Night post to cheer myself up! Glam make-up for a night out I had earlier this week, and a review of the products

So yes, I don't like to toot my own horn but I scrub up nicely! This was a good hair day as well, to the point where it was quite unreal! So here are the products etc..

  • Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse in 010 Ivory; I have used this foundation faithfully for the past 3 or 4 years, and would highly recommend it to anyone! It's great coverage and mousse texture makes it even and durable. I do have to re apply a few times some days, but the coverage is so perfect I'll let it off.
  • No7 Créme Touch Face Powder in 10 Fair Bloom; This is so lovely to pop on instead of foundation on those lazy days, or on top of your foundation for a flawless finish. I've found there's always a lot of excess on the pad you need to buff away, but that's a small price to pay.
  • No7 Natural Blush Cheek Colour in 20 Honey; I love this blush! Goes on very lightly so there's no need to worry about looking too orange around the cheek bone, and this colour suits me perfectly. Another good buy.
  • 2True Liquid Eyeliner in Black; Ahh my faithful buddy, never lets me down! I love the fact that it comes with a stiff applicator brush, almost like a pen, nice and easy to get a straight and even line across your lid. And it's only a couple of quid, nice.
  • No7 Lipstick in 80 Cherry; see this post.
And all in all, a good night out! I barely worried about my make-up and, throughout a 5/6 hour party, I didn't re apply at all. Thumbs up!

Professional Grandmothers // 09/11/11

  • shirt - internacionale
  • cardigan and high-waisted jeans - topshop
I'm sporting the absolutely no effort look these days, but I'M COMFY SO THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS. I'm living in this cardi at the moment, so I should be, it was £42! And the jeans I pretty much wear all the time anyway. This shirt's really cute, comfy too! And at only £9.99, I'm not too bothered.

On the life front, I've actually started my personal statement and UCAS etc. The due date for my college to check is just under a week away, so I thought it was best to get it started. I'm such a procrastinator! I've picked 4 out of 5 of my choices and done half of my statement, all part of the frightening concept called my future!

Lace and Mispractice // 07/11/11

  • dress - oasis
Urgh, please excuse the hideous state of me, I'm just home from a 6 hour shift at work, and I'm pretty pooped! But I just had to show of my beautiful dress!! I have never loved a dress more in my life..
It was an extra piece of uniform from work, each store has to pick an extra piece to look as glam as possible, and at 75% off I was pretty happy to only pay £12.50 for this BEAUTY!

I'm loving work by the way, I'm fully till trained already, and my boss has already put me in a Visual Merchandising workshop tomorrow, to learn about mannequin placement and fixtures around the store, I was chuffed when she told me!

Anyway, I thought I'd share it with you! Do you guys have an absolute favourite dress? Do share!

Boats and Anchors // 05/11/11

  • dress - primark

This dress is so old it's ridiculous, but it was only £13! And I like it's long sleeves and rhinestone detail on the shoulder, it's very flattering. I have a friend's 18th on a boat tonight, so I thought I'd have a rummage in my wardrobe as I seem to be wearing the same thing over and over again!

And the nails are avon matte black and the model's own wah nail art pen! Love it.

Wine and Tramps // 02/11/11

Well, I'm dressed like a complete tramp! But a comfy, stylish tramp so all is well! These leggings are the comfiest bottoms EVER. Dead chuffed with them, I practically live in them at the moment, but as I'm back at college now, I should probably start making an effort again.
And I can literally shove this cardi on over any outfit I've got, it's a comfy addition to anything. A bit steep at £42, but I'd only just got paid so I wasn't even looking at price tags! I need to calm down.. I'm getting so many hours at Oasis though, so maybe I won't bother cutting down my spending ahaa..

  • racer vest - h&m
  • leopard leggings and granddad cardi - topsop

I finally succumbed to my urges for Models Own, I love the nail pen, I'm currently playing with it and having a right fun ol' time. And the colour is called Fuzzy Beach, I need it for a late Halloween party on Friday, I'm going as a leopard (SHOCK!)
