mom jeans: river island, crop top: topshop

Happy Summer! It's been so difficult to get an outfit post organised! It's been a full month, now that is shameful, apologies and accept my love please. A lot of lovely things have happened over the past month, me and my wonderful boyfriend went on holiday to the gorgeous Amadores in Gran Canaria, it was the most perfect holiday and we'll never forget it. I've also moved out of my student house in London and am officially back in Plymouth for the Summer, which makes me happy, I'm working with my boyfriend and ready for a long and happy break with him and our families.

Now, outfit time, I've been living in my mom jeans more recently, probably as the weather ain't as glorious anymore, and they fit the climate. Now this is a newly featured crop top, but I wore it a fair bit on holiday, I love the colour and the fit is nice, I have a slight issue with the fact that my bra is rather obvious, depending on the bra I can sometimes get away with it, but it's still a bit of a faf to be honest.

I promised I would be doing more nail-based posts, but I have also failed you there up until now! I will be photographing more of my nail art technique and doing tutorials, but I have a query, do you guys prefer video tutorials, or posted step by step written tutorials? As I don't do videos at the moment, but it might be an idea to get in to! If you guys would like that of course.

Hope you're all enjoying your week!

a boho thing

crop top: miss selfridge, culottes: H&M

I hope this gorgeous weather is treating everyone as nicely as it's treating me! And because of the glorious sunshine the lovely summer clothes can make their long awaited appearance.

I went major holiday shopping this past Friday with my boyfriend (2 weeks today and we head out to Gran Canaria for 10 days, yay!) and picked up way over £100 worth of stuff, and these 2 pieces were part of that lot. I've wanted these types of crop tops for ages, to wear in the summer and also to wear as part of an evening ensemble, so I bought the black and the white so they can go with a wide variety of outfits. These are available in different stores such as Topshop/River Island, I would honestly recommend the Miss Selfridge range they are more substantial in their material, in the other stores I tried on the white crop top and it would be very see through, but the Miss Selfridge one is substantial enough not to be like that.

Now these culottes, they are the comfiest things I've worn! To be quite honest, I wouldn't described these as something I would wear, I don't own any other bottoms like these, but I figured for summer I would need some lightweight longish trousers for the days when I just don't fancy shorts (which is a lot!) and these fit that brief perfectly, and at only £14.99, I couldn't say no!

Lots of love!

momma's and beverages

t-shirt: primark, mom jeans: river island

Hola kids! So I bought a lovely new outfit today! The weather is so lushous at the moment, so I needed a slightly more fitting outfit for the climate, so ta dah!

Now I've been debating on Mom jeans for a while now, I went off the idea when I tried on a less that flattering pair in Republic a few months back, but I spied these beauties in River Island and thought I'd give them a second chance. Thank goodness I did because I am officially in love! They are so comfy and the light, slightly acid wash colour is perfect for this kind of weather. Highly recommend these, at £40 they are a stretch money wise, but they come with a thick belt, and they are very well made so it's really worth it.

I thought this tee was adorable, and it's a nice fit on me, so I bought it. Pretty simple explanation for that one really.

Hope everyone is enjoying their easter, and hope the weather is as wonderful where you are, like it is here in London!

the gap fit

jumper: gap, trousers: topshop, satchel: river island

Hola kiddies! Now the weather has decided to warm up slightly outfits like this are now okay to wear out with maybe a thin jacket, rather than layer upon layer of vests, jumpers and jackets and looking like a drowned ant! Now I got this jumper from Gap at the Clarkes Shopping Village outlined in my last outfit post! I love it a lot, it worked really well with a collared shirt as a combo as well, and I love that look.

Now, these trousers are a small love affair of mine, I tried them on a while ago (when they were full price) and they didn't have my size and the 8 I tried on hanged off so I was a bit gutted, but when mother and father visited me and we strolled down Oxford St, I found them, in my size and in the sale for £20 down from £40! So I was chuffed to say the least really! I love their high waisted detail, so I can tuck jumpers or shirts in and also there's never any constant hoiking them up, which is a plus!

This satchel is my best friend at the moment, I seem to have a lot of greens in my outfits recently, so this satchel has been making a fair few appearances. My mum picked this out for me and gave it to me for Christmas, she always seems to pick up little gems for me, so I thank her for that!

When sligtly warmer I wear this without a jacket or anything, and it remains comfortable throughout the day, so I have to say, it's perfect for this time of year.

marshmallow peeps

Got an outfit post for you guys today! I wore this outfit to an SU event the other night and some guy asked me why I'd come out in my pyjamas, which I found funny and took as a lovely compliment to be honest!

crop top: new look petite, trousers: zara (sale), necklace: claires

I am in love with these trousers! I have been since the moment I picked them up, my parents came up to visit me back mid-January and we went to Oxford street and had afternoon tea in Hyde Park, such a quaint and posh afternoon, it was rather cute I must say! But honestly, they are the comfiest things I've ever worn and yet felt confident enough to wear them formal and/or casual, they are the most versatile trousers I've ever owned if I'm honest.

Now, the necklace, I went to Clarkes Shopping Village with my parents around the same time, they brought me back to Plymouth for my inter-semester break so we stopped there for the day on the way back down, and I hadn't been here since I was about 7 so obviously I barely remembered a thing, but basically it's a massive outlet shopping village, every shop has their stock discounted by anywhere from 10% to 75%, and I found some absolute bargains in this place, I bought 5 nail pens from Accessorize for around £3.90, 2 beautiful Gap jumpers for £10 each, and the Claire's within the village had 10 items for £10 which included the entire store's stock, which was brilliant, and I have picked up some lovely things which I'm sure will feature in future outfit posts!

Now I have to confess something here, I've acquired a little addiction over the past few months, and I wanted to share it with you guys in the hopes that I will come to find that I am not alone in this battle.
I, Emily Rose Perrin, am addicted to... frilly socks.

Now, this doesn't look like a large collection, but this is only about 1/4 of the frilly socks I actually own, a few pairs are in the wash, and there are definitely at least 5 pairs at home in Plymouth. I find whenever I step in to Primark/Topshop/River Island and there stands before me a pair of frilly socks which I don't own, I find myself needing, not wanting, to pick them up and buy them, I wear them everyday without fail, especially in this kind of weather, I wear them with brogues, wedges, converse, tennis pumps, like everything! And they definitely make the entire ensemble of any outfit a lot more cute, and I love that look at the moment!

Hope everyone's having a lovely Sunday!

~ in a picture perfect world

| lace shirt: oasis | high-waisted shorts: river island |

The high-waisted shorts that never go away.. Honestly, I have not taken them off! Probably because EVERYTHING goes with them! And this top was new in work a couple of days ago, and it's so cute, and it was cheap too, only £18, which is cheap for oasis, I swear.
I'm back in to the magnetism nail polish! Such a great effect and it dries near instantly, although I had a few mishaps with putting the magnet too close and scuffing the polish.
I've done my last college shows now! All done and dusted, just got to upload my last few pieces of coursework, and then my end of year tutorial, then that is IT! All done, and it feels incredible, finally!

~ it's time you had the talk

| blouse: oasis | high-waisted shorts: river island |

Hello new blouse! Thank you work.. Taking all my hard-earned pennies right back from me. It's very vintage-esque and easy to wear, which makes it so loveable!
And I told you these shorts would become a MASSIVE part of my life, yep, it's happened. I wear them with absolutely everything possible.
Oh, and those sunglasses.. were £3.50! For me anyway.. I won a competition in work, selling 20 dresses in 1 day before any other staff member, and the winner got to choose a pair of sunglasses and receive 75% off the retail price, so they'd normally be £14, but I got them for so much less! I don't normally wear sunglasses, but I have tried to wear them more seeing as I got them SO cheap, and we've had some gorgeous weather here, so it's been the perfect time for it!
Final week of college! Over with the mask performances, now for the Musical Theatre showcase, finally! Can't wait, and my best friend comes home tomorrow for the summer! GAH, she's been greatly missed.

~ can I handle the seasons

| high-waisted shorts: river island | vest: oasis | biker jacket: zara |

Hello! I really liked this outfit, as it kind of looks like a playsuit or a 2 in 1 of some kind. As I predicted, I am LIVING in these little shorts, dressed up and dressed down, bang on trend.
I'm growing ever more aware of all my friends around me turning 18, tonight was my lovely friend Sophie's surprise meal and drinks affair for her 18th, and I realised, everyone who attended was 18, and I still have 2 and a half months left until I turn the big 1-8. I am a young'en with my birthday falling on 31st August, last one in the year.. And I'm growing impatient!
Anyway, so it's only Thursday and I've already done 25.5 hours at work! And another 4 this weekend down in the concession in House of Fraser, and as I thought, the sale launch was MENTAL, so many customers, so many orders coming in! But honestly, it's such a great sale it's no surprise!
And, it's most definitely the home stretch as far as college is concerned, it's the final week before our end of year showcases, so we're doing technical runs, getting everything prepared and finishing off the final bits of work, and then we have a round off week after the shows, which I probably won't even go in for all of it, as I've kept up to date with my written work, which is a rarity! I'm so excited it's nearly over, then the next things are my final show in Plymouth with Music of the Night, my birthday and then 2 weeks later I move out and off up to London, oh it's all coming about quickly!
I'll have to grow up then, I guess..
