Moving on up!

Hey guys, long time no post! Well I thought I'd swing by to let you know what's going on.

I'm looking to move my blogging in to a different direction, hopefully moving in to video tutorials and vlogs as well. So I'm moving more in to make up, tutorials, SFX/Horror make up, reviews, that sort of thing.

I've been constructing this blog for the past month or so and have 3 active posts on there now, I'm hoping you guys would take a look, see if it's your cup of tea and hopefully follow!

This blog will still be active for a while as I have sponsored posts coming up, but it hope you guys will support me in my new blog as nicely as you have supported me here.

All my love!

mom jeans: river island, crop top: topshop

Happy Summer! It's been so difficult to get an outfit post organised! It's been a full month, now that is shameful, apologies and accept my love please. A lot of lovely things have happened over the past month, me and my wonderful boyfriend went on holiday to the gorgeous Amadores in Gran Canaria, it was the most perfect holiday and we'll never forget it. I've also moved out of my student house in London and am officially back in Plymouth for the Summer, which makes me happy, I'm working with my boyfriend and ready for a long and happy break with him and our families.

Now, outfit time, I've been living in my mom jeans more recently, probably as the weather ain't as glorious anymore, and they fit the climate. Now this is a newly featured crop top, but I wore it a fair bit on holiday, I love the colour and the fit is nice, I have a slight issue with the fact that my bra is rather obvious, depending on the bra I can sometimes get away with it, but it's still a bit of a faf to be honest.

I promised I would be doing more nail-based posts, but I have also failed you there up until now! I will be photographing more of my nail art technique and doing tutorials, but I have a query, do you guys prefer video tutorials, or posted step by step written tutorials? As I don't do videos at the moment, but it might be an idea to get in to! If you guys would like that of course.

Hope you're all enjoying your week!

the gap fit

jumper: gap, trousers: topshop, satchel: river island

Hola kiddies! Now the weather has decided to warm up slightly outfits like this are now okay to wear out with maybe a thin jacket, rather than layer upon layer of vests, jumpers and jackets and looking like a drowned ant! Now I got this jumper from Gap at the Clarkes Shopping Village outlined in my last outfit post! I love it a lot, it worked really well with a collared shirt as a combo as well, and I love that look.

Now, these trousers are a small love affair of mine, I tried them on a while ago (when they were full price) and they didn't have my size and the 8 I tried on hanged off so I was a bit gutted, but when mother and father visited me and we strolled down Oxford St, I found them, in my size and in the sale for £20 down from £40! So I was chuffed to say the least really! I love their high waisted detail, so I can tuck jumpers or shirts in and also there's never any constant hoiking them up, which is a plus!

This satchel is my best friend at the moment, I seem to have a lot of greens in my outfits recently, so this satchel has been making a fair few appearances. My mum picked this out for me and gave it to me for Christmas, she always seems to pick up little gems for me, so I thank her for that!

When sligtly warmer I wear this without a jacket or anything, and it remains comfortable throughout the day, so I have to say, it's perfect for this time of year.

minion nail art

Yes, this is what I spent my afternoon off doing! I have to say it was actually a hell of a lot of fun, I did enjoy myself. When it all came together it was really satisfying to be honest, I was really proud!

I didn't want to do the entirety of my nails as I thought it would be too much, a bit over the top and would just be for novelty effect, and I wanted a set I could wear and would go with outfits etc.

Here were the steps as to how I completed this set.

(l-r) cover entire base with a yellow, then paint the tip with a blue, add the black detail with a nail art pen or use an acrylic black paint with a small brush, then add a grey/brown between the black detail, a smaller white circle on top of the grey/brown, then add final facial accents with a black nail art pen or acrylic paint.

I joked to my boyfriend that I would give this design a shot, but after he said how awesome I would be (I think he was being sarcastic to be fair) and how much I love taking on new designs, I went for it!

What do you guys think? And if you have any cool novelty nail art designs link me, I'd love to check them out!

maroon with vintage floral

I have to say, I am very in to this tapestry floral print that is going on at the moment! I have shoes in the print, trousers, even big hair grips! So I obviously needed to make my nails match all of this lovely print going on, obviously!

I've also had yet to try out lots of new polishes and nail pens I'd picked up recently, so I was eager to try new and quirky things out, and if it matches my outfit then even better, eh?!

So these were the lovely polishes and pens I used to create the look.
  • Matte Nail Paint in Crush 350 by Barry M
  • Peach Puff by Models Own
  • Slate Grey by Models Own
  • Accessorize Glitter Green Nail Art Pen
  • Barry M Nail Art Pen in Pink
Now I wear SO MUCH of the Matte Nail Paint by Barry M, I have a jumper, various shoes, shirts and t-shirts, so this was a godsend! I've also always loved matte finishes on nails, it looks classy and effective with minimal effort or skill.

Also I just have to say about the Accessorize Nail Pen, I bought it as part of a pack of four, I also got pink, blue and orange, I picked them up at Clarks Shopping Village (a massive discount village filled with various shops with all their stock at dirt cheap prices) and this pack was only £4, so a mere pound per nail pen, and being that cheap I obviously expected little from it, and didn't expect I'd want to use them for more than little accents on elaborate designs, but I've really changed my opinion to be quite honest, they are textured well, with a lovely, pigmented colour and the glitter really is a sweet effect on nails, so I do recommend them if they are still in stock anywhere. I obviously only used a small amount for this design in particular, but for the future, they will come in very handy for making bigger and better designs (yay!)

This was how I started, the matte paint on all nails bar the ring finger, and then the slate grey on that remaining ring finger, as that was where I wanted the design to be. Whilst I definitely love the matte finish on this polish, I didn't feel it would quite go with the designed nail, so (as I'll show in the next step) I applied a top coat so it would match with the accented nail, as I wanted that to have a glossy finish to compliment the design.

So the design on the accented nail was fairly simple, to my surprise indeed, I started with a large blob of the pink nail pen colour and added a smaller blob of the Peach Puff colour before the previous pen colour had dried, and then gently swirled them together slightly with the end of a cotton bud, to mix the colours to provide the effect of the flower.

And after a small leaf accents with the Accessorize nail art pen and a lick of top coat on all nails, this is the finished result, I have to say I do love it. I've been organising my wardrobe to make sure the deep red is always present! I've been getting a lot of colours and asked for tips on how I do it, so I'm quite proud of my work here haha!

Hope you enjoy! If you give it a try or anything, send me the picture I'd love to have a look!

~ you should be here with me instead.

galaxy tee: missguided
wet look leggings: internacionale
high tops: primark

This is a bit of a lazy day outfit at the moment, but it's cute enough right? This galaxy print is doing it for me at the moment as well! It's beautiful, lazy but still something about it. Plus the leggings are BEYOND comfortable, comfortable is a vast understatement.
And the cutest shoes, can't be affording converses at the moment so these are a great sub! And at only £7 who's complaining? NOT ME.
How cute are my nails also? You may all be surprised to learn that these are cheap stick-on nails from ....wait for it... PRIMARK. £1, with glue included! The glue is durable as well, I never expect much from cheap glue, but it's been 4 days of wearing them now, and none of them are even loose, so I'm very pleased. There were plenty of other patterns to choose from too, all really cute! I'm too lazy to do my own nail art at the moment as well, plus I left all my nail equipment in London, so this was a happy alternative!
1 week left at home for Easter, and I'm having a lovely time at home having a break, although I'm not really having a break I have 6 essays to do, filming on Wednesday and Thursday so I'm learning lines, catching up on voice journals, singing journals, acting journals, dance journals, stage combat journals, honestly it's never ending at the moment! But I'm getting on top of everything, slowly but surely.
I'm sure everyone's having a lovely Easter, although most people have returned to studies now! Seems to be just LCM that can't organise an Easter break that actually included Easter Sunday.. We had the long weekend, 4 days of study THEN our 2 week Easter break... perfectly normal, right? No.

~ but that would have been too kind.

| open-knit jumper(size XS): oasis | jade jeggings(size 8): oasis | nails: Chiffon Pink Nailene Gel Polish |

Jeez, the most au naturale post EVER going on right here. Hey ho, I needed to do a post but I forgot about it until after the nightly beauty regime, you'll get over it I'm sure. This is literally my new favourite thing, the open-knit jumper! So easy to wear, and it's lovely and over-sized, I do love that trait in jumpers. It's slighlty dip-hemmed too, which is a nice touch to the jumper. I've been wearing it loads and it looks really sweet when my hair is in it's signature messy/disheveled bun.
I've invested in the Sensationail Gel Nails kit, instead of forking out 299 quid for a CND course, I saw this in Boots for a mere £69.99, which is still steep, but it comes with everything you need including the LED lamp and a colour of nail polish! I've been using it non-stop since I got it just after my birthday, even giving out manicures to friends (I'm hoping to use this as a small way of making money up in London, probably a fiver per manicure, and in London that's an absolute steal, but I need more practice on people who won't moan if I mess up! Thank god for friends and family) I tried it out first on my beautiful best friend Danielle, and bless her she had a little stumpy thumb nail at the time, so it was good practice actually! Here's the finished result (plus some little polka-dot nail art, as I am quite the sucker for it)
(grubbiest table ever, officially my "nail table")
(Professor Chaos and General Disarray, chilling in the background)

Had quite a lot of fun doing this haha! A few mishaps, but it was my first time, bless me. But it was fun, and I plan to keep doing it up there, so hopefully I can get a few extra pennies by just doing flatmates or coursemates nails to start with, then they can tell friends of friends etc, I can hope!
It's now only 4 days until moving day, I've just had a quick check of my blog and I don't think I've mentioned that I've managed to transfer my job up to London! But I'm transferring to the Warehouse in the White City/Westfield shopping centre! As they're both within Aurora Fashions it's really easy to transfer. I kind of knew where the shopping centre was, but I'd never taken a look at it before, but me and my parents spent most of this evening trolling through the site and all the stores, OH MY GOODNESS, it's absolutely massive! I'm genuinely in disbelief! It's giant, and the Warehouse store is really big too! I've got my interview/chat on Saturday, really looking forward to that!
It's all happening so quickly now! Eek.

~ back to what I was before.

| printed top(size 8): oasis | skirt(size 6): H&M |

I've loved this top since I bought it about a week ago, but I literally couldn't find anything to wear with it, to really show off it's cool and unique shape. I've had this little skirt for like so many years now, and I tend to neglect it and it never really sees the light of day much, but I was having a tidy and re-discovered the beauty! Then it clicked that they would be a very cute pairing! And I think it looks really cute together, so there we go, a new outfit made of new and old, love it!
The nails don't really go with the outfit but, haha, they go with my work uniform! Model's Own in Pastel Pink with a Wah Nails for Model's Own pink nail pen to do the leopard art. Something a little different, and it looks really cute against my work outfit as the nail art pen is slightly fluorescent, so it really makes them pop!
It's only a week tomorrow until my birthday!! You guys have no idea how excited I am getting, it's finally so close! Also, congrats to everyone who got their GCSE results, hope you got what you wanted!

~ your lips are venomous.

| leopard print shirt (size 6): H&M | denim shorts (size 8): matalan |

Oh have we all been enjoying the mini heatwave? I certainly have, and have been living in this outfit! It's quite a thin and loose shirt so it's so comfortable in the hot weather, and the shorts I've had for YEARS and I can't believe they fit me haha! I've literally had them since I was 13.
I finally had time to give myself a proper manicure last night, nice new set of nails and a good set of nail art, two tone pink spots under the leopard print, my work uniform shorts are pink so I've really only done it to match them as I'm working so much, haha!
My birthday is finally approaching, officially counting down now, only 3 weeks! Finally going to be 18, and then in another 2 weeks I will be moving to London! What an incredible month I have ahead of me, I am getting so excited now!

beautiful food courtesy of The Harvester, between shows (hadn't quite washed off my clown make-up, left the eyebrows on for yolo), big bang theory drinking game aka the easiest way to get absolutely bladdered, black sparkle nails, charlotte olympia imitation dolly shoes, I am loving the bread roll on the top of the head look, light pink and orange ombre nails, day time television slowly taking over my spare time, red and gold halves, said bread roll, red magnetism nails, recent purchases which I am loving.

~ mama, he's the best I ever had.

| split skirt: oasis | bralet: topshop |

Oh my hopeful summer outfit, I didn't actually wear this today as, anyone who lives in the South West will know, it's bollocking it down here, so unfortunately this beautiful skirt would show off some parts not meant for public domain, but I bought this skirt from work in the sale last week, and I had nothing to wear it with at all, but I went shopping with my best friend yesterday and saw this gorgeous bralet from topshop, and as it had an off-white base, like the skirt, I knew it would be a cute ensemble! And I think I was right, I love it!
My parents are away! I thought I'd be pining for their return daily, but I'm actually enjoying the independence it's given me, my brother has a full-time job so he's out until 6 most days, and I've been okay actually! Surprisingly, as I'm stupidly close to my mother, and thought 2 weeks without her would kill me, but I'm glad it hasn't, as it kind of solidifies my plan of leaving in September for LCM, and I know I'll be okay! Of course I miss them, but I'm okay! They left 3 days ago and nothings broken!

~ in a picture perfect world

| lace shirt: oasis | high-waisted shorts: river island |

The high-waisted shorts that never go away.. Honestly, I have not taken them off! Probably because EVERYTHING goes with them! And this top was new in work a couple of days ago, and it's so cute, and it was cheap too, only £18, which is cheap for oasis, I swear.
I'm back in to the magnetism nail polish! Such a great effect and it dries near instantly, although I had a few mishaps with putting the magnet too close and scuffing the polish.
I've done my last college shows now! All done and dusted, just got to upload my last few pieces of coursework, and then my end of year tutorial, then that is IT! All done, and it feels incredible, finally!
